Bio

World music at its best, ViBO Simfani bridges cultures from around the globe by fusing elements of latin jazz, folk, classical, Brazilian styles such as Bossa Nova and Choro. The end result is romantic, fun and mystical all at once. With the impeccable performance and arrangements of strings, woodwinds, guitar and percussion, ViBO Simfani reinterprets the traditional repertoire with an original sound.

Founded by violinist Victor Lin and cellist Pawel Walerowski in 2010, ViBO Simfani recorded their self-titled debut album in 2012, and started to perform regularly for festivals, schools, events, local cafe and restaurants.

The group expanded in the following years, with the joining of guitarist Javier Trujillo, clarinetist Brian Lassiter, percussionist Diego Becerra, singer/percussionist Mariela Mena and bassist Alex Farrell. They perform for bigger events in the bay area, like San Francisco International Art Festival, Berkeley World Music Festival, San Bruno Concert in the Park, Colma town picnic, and Daly City’s Light Up Our World. In 2015, ViBO Simfani performed a benefit concert to raise fund for music education for VH1 Save the Music Foundation. The group’s second album, Unfolding, consisting of solid material and collaborations with other local musicians, was released in 2016. ViBO Simfani is currently recording their third album, while producing a series of studio live videos.
